Making Postsecondary
Education
Possible in California
For 50 years, Dollars for Scholars has been helping students in communities across America pursue postsecondary education. From Maine to California, more than 40,000 dedicated volunteers devote their time and energy to raising funds, supporting students and making a real difference in the lives of those in their community.
As a part of Scholarship America, the nation’s largest non-profit, private-sector scholarship organization, our job is to help our chapters, our volunteers and our students. We'd invite you to take a look around the site to find out what's new, what's available, and what we can do for you. In addition, we'd love to hear from you – just click here to give us a call or e-mail.
Welcome to California Dollars for Scholars'
New Regional Staff!
California Dollars for Scholars is pleased to introduce two new regional office staff members: Colette Taylor, Regional Director and Brie Wells, Regional Coordinator.
Taylor, who joins us starting August 2, brings years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience to Dollars for Scholars, most recently as Associate Director of Athletics Annual Giving at Pepperdine University. Prior to joining Pepperdine, Taylor served in several roles with the Boy Scouts of America. In her new role with Dollars for Scholars, Taylor will be responsible for managing and expanding the operations and programs of the region, through diversified fundraising, marketing and supporting community-based Dollars for Scholars chapters.
Wells joined Dollars for Scholars on July 12, and brings a depth of experience in chapter development and training. As regional coordinator, Wells will create, develop, and mentor new chapters; support and sustain existing chapters; train volunteers and work with the regional board to facilitate their training and enhance board recruitment.
"We couldn’t be happier adding Colette and Brie to our staff on the ground in California," said Lauren Segal, President and CEO, Scholarship America.
"Their combined experience and passion for education will help us grow the reach of Dollars for Scholars across the state, and provide more support for more California students seeking education beyond high school."

Linda Vazquez is able to attend UCLA thanks to the California Dollars for Scholars Regional Scholarship Fund. Read her success story, and then visit Scholarship America's Web site and tell us your own!
